The Martial House June Holiday Wushu Day Camp is back by popular demand! This time round, there are a total of 3 camp sessions, each lasting for 3 days. Details of the camp can be found here. Note: 1. Session A by Master Leo Kee Ann & Coach Rui Ling focus mainly on Taiji training. 2. Session B by Coach Kevan Cheah focuses mainly on Nanquan training. 3. Happy Birthday 61st Birthday Master Leo Kee Ann!
On 29 April 2015, the staff of Martial House planned a surprise celebration for Master Leo Kee Ann as it was his 61st birthday! The private event was held on Nautica, a yacht parked at Marina Country Club. Special thanks to the staff from Asia Dive Academy for being such a great host! Also, a big thank you to all who made this event possible despite the heavy rain! The rain has definitely made the night much more memorable! Once again, Happy Birthday to Master Leo! Stay youthful, stay healthy!
Congratulations to Damien Teo!
Last night during Star Awards 2015 Show 1, Martial House Star, Damien Teo was awarded the “Young Talent Award” for his outstanding performance in MediaCorp Channel 8 drama, “The Journey: Tumultuous Times”! Over the past few years, Damien has grown and made many remarkable achievements. From a cheeky young little boy to becoming a national Wushu champion and now, an award winning actor! Damien is definitely a multi-talented young boy who is filled with determination and perseverance to do his best in everything he does. This desirable trait is what Martial House would like to cultivate among students and hope that they would see Damien as a role model. Once again, congratulations to Damien! Hope he will continue to work hard so that we can see him more frequently on television! He has indeed done Martial House proud! SPD Charity Show 2015
Did you manage to catch Martial House Stars, Ho Lin Ying & Samuel Tan on the “live” telecast of the SPD Charity Show 2015 last night? Both Team Singapore athletes were involved in a performance together with MediaCorp artiste, Desmond Tan and SPD beneficiary, Samuel Lim. The World Wushu Championships Gold & Silver medalists displayed a synchronized Taiji routine as Samuel Lim played a smooth music piece with the “guzheng”, a traditional Chinese instrument. Following, as the music became more intense, Desmond Tan, one of the 8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill, made his appearance and executed a “nandao” routine which impressed the audiences! Credit goes to Martial House Coach Kevan Cheah for the choreography! Previously, it was revealed that Martial House Coach & SEA Games Gold Medalist, Kevan Cheah, was helping MediaCorp artiste, Desmond Tan in a choreography for an upcoming performance. Martial House Stars @ Victoria School
On 16 March 2015, two Martial House Stars & Team Singapore athletes, Emily Sin & Samuel Tan were invited to attend a sharing session with the Victoria School (VS) Wushu Team! During the one-hour session, both athletes shared their valuable knowledge and experience with the students. Students asked them a variety of questions ranging from Wushu techniques to time management. As the National Inter-School Wushu Championships 2015 is just around the corner, questions pertaining to stress management was popular among students. Hence, the World Wushu Championships medalists shared their own unique ways of calming their nerves. For instance, Emily will drink a cup of coffee before any competition whereas Samuel will always face a blank wall before his turn. Before the session ended, both athletes gave the Victorians final words of encouragement to motivate them to perform to their fullest potential in the upcoming competition! It was indeed a great pleasure to have both Emily & Samuel at VS! Let’s wish both them all the best in the upcoming SEA Games!

The Martial House Mock Wushu Competition 2015 (2) will be held on 14 March 2015, Saturday, at Hong Wen School (Indoor Sports Hall). Below are some of the frequently asked questions (FAQs) by students, parents and teachers: 1. Where is Hong Wen School (Indoor Sports Hall) located? 30 Towner Road, Singapore 327829. Kindly enter from gate 6 instead of the main gate. 2. For whom is this mock competition for? The second mock competition on 14 March 2015 is for secondary school & junior college students (from ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’ divisions). 3. Do I have to pay to participate in the mock competition? No fees will be charged as this is a voluntary event organised by the Martial House coaches and staff to help students better-prepare for the upcoming National Inter-School Wushu Championships. 4. Must the participants wear their costumes? Though it is optional, participants are strongly encouraged to wear their costumes, especially for students competing for the first time. 5. What time will the mock competition starts? The side gate (gate 6) will open at 8.00am. Students are to report at 8.30am for a short briefing and warm-ups. The first event will start at 9.00am. 6. What is the events sequence for the mock competition? Two courts (A & B) will be set up. Wushu: Resilience in Motion Get-Together
On 8 March 2015, the participants of Chingay 2015 Wushu contingent had the opportunity to reunite once again! This is made possible thanks to People’s Association (PA) for organizing the Wushu: Resilience in Motion Get-Together event!
