On 6 August 2015, teachers and students from National Junior College (NJC) celebrated National Day through a series of fun-filled activities! Martial House was honoured to be part of the college’s celebration to lead the students in their ACES Day workout! The ACES Day workout was specially choreographed by the Martial House team led by Coach Wan GuangYao Eric, a budding choreographer who has been actively involved in choreography works for National Day Parades in the recent years. As the theme of the workout was “Martial Arts”, elements from different forms of martial arts, such as Wushu and Muay Thai, could be seen in the routine. The routine was made simple so that it was easy for the students to follow and enjoy! Under the guidance of the Martial House instructors, students from NJC spent a week to master the routine and successfully complete the workout together as a college during their National Day celebration! The enthusiasm and energy levels of the students were so great that the instructors could hardly hear their own voices on stage! The Martial House team would like to thank the teachers and students from NJC for all the support provided and for their active participation! Do look forward to the video of the mass workout session which will be released soon! If you would like to find out more about the Martial House ACES Day Programme, kindly send your queries via email to [email protected].

Last night, Martial House was invited to attend the 28th SEA Games Appreciation Night, hosted by Mr. Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Ministry of Communications and Information. Managing Director, Mr. Leo Wen Yeow and choreographer, Mr. Wan GuangYao Eric represented Martial House to attend the event. A token of appreciation was presented to Martial House for all the contributions made during the 28th SEA Games. Martial House would like to thank all coaches and students for all the time, effort and commitment which contributed to the success of the 28th SEA Games! Without the never-ending support received, Martial House would not have the opportunity to receive such high honour! With this, Martial House has concluded the journey of the 28th SEA Games. The Martial House team is definitely looking forward to participate in many more large scale events in the near future!
Sneak Preview of the National Day Parade 2015!
Under the guidance of Martial House Choreographers, Wan GuangYao Eric and Gordon Choy, a team of Martial House youth leaders have been working hard to prepare the Ministry of Education (MOE) contingent of more than 600 primary school students for the upcoming National Day Parade (NDP) 2015! The Martial House youth leaders are part of the Creative Team which is responsible for the design and choreography of movements, as well as coordinating and training of students for the final act. It is definitely challenging for the youth leaders to prepare these students for the such a massive performance. Besides the constant encouragement and support the youth leaders gave one another, the smiles on the faces of the students also provided leaders with an extra motivation to stay hyper and enthusiastic throughout the long hours of rehearsals! During the act, students are required to perform their dance choreography, change the colours of the LED lights on their costumes and display various formations according to the rhythm and tempo of the music! To deliver a spectacular performance, rehearsals are inevitable. A big thank you to all the various parties for making each rehearsal possible! With one month to the actual NDP 2015, hope Singaporeans are looking forward to the MOE contingent performance prepared by Martial House!
Choa Chu Kang Community Club June Holiday Intensive Wushu Training Camp 2015
During the June holidays, Martial House Coaches, Wang Kai Ting & Leo Rui Yan (Reann), organized and conducted a 2-week intensive Wushu training camp at Choa Chu Kang Community Club. Throughout the 2 weeks, students have trained and worked hard to hone their Wushu skills under the guidance of the coaches. To recognize the effort of the students and coaches, parents have initiated a simple potluck party during the last day of the camp! Just look at the variety of food prepared by the parents! Don’t they look yummy? A big thank you to the parents for all the food and snacks! Though the camp has ended, it marks the beginning of new friendships and new possibilities! All the best to the students for their Wushu endeavor!
Martial House Staff Retreat 2015 @ Thailand
We are left with one last week before the June holiday ends! Just like most students, the Martial House coaches took the opportunity to take a short break before the start of the new academic semester! With the objective of strengthening bonds, the staff of Martial House were away for a company retreat from 16 to 19 June 2015 at Bangkok, Thailand! The Martial House staff was privileged to stay in Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia, for accommodation. From the rooms, one would be mesmerize by the magnificent view of the beautiful capital of Thailand. Besides shopping, the Martial House team took time to visit popular landmarks such as the Floating Market and Four-Faced Buddha to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the country. Through these experiences, the coaches are reminded of the importance of cultural preservation which is highly relevant to the field of Wushu, given that the Chinese martial art is considered both a traditional and modern sport today. Though it was a short 4 day 3 night staff retreat, the Martial House coaches are indeed grateful for the fully sponsored trip! A big thank you to Martial House and Managing Director, Mr. Leo Wen Yeow!

15 Days to the 28th SEA Games 2015!
We are left with 15 days to the 28th SEA Games 2015! Singapore has waited 22 years to host the Games once again! After performing in the opening ceremony of the first-ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2010, Martial House is proud to be involved in the opening ceremony of yet another major sporting event, the 28th SEA Games 2015! To prepare for such a massive performance, rehearsals are inevitable. Sometimes, rehearsals could take up to 14 long hours! Kudos to the Martial House Stars for their time, effort and commitment! It is really not easy to make such sacrifices especially when most of the performers had competitions and examinations to juggle with. The Martial House Stars will be performing for Act 2 of the Opening Ceremony. Do particularly look out for Koh Hao Xuan & Austin Chong Sze Ze who have been chosen to be lead performers for the act! One of them will also be performing a breath-taking stunt so do look forward to the performance! Among the other leads, one of them happens to be the son of renowned local actor and director, Jack Neo! “What an honour for Hao Xuan & Austin to perform on the same stage as my idol’s son!” exclaimed Hao Xuan’s happy and proud mother after meeting her idol. The Opening Ceremony of the 28th SEA Games 2015 will be held on 5 June 2015, Friday. Do remember to catch the performance of the Martial House Stars!
