[Updated] Recruitment for Chingay 2015!

Image Martial House will be involved in the upcoming Chingay 2015, the largest street performance and float parade in Asia! As such, we are recruiting performers! Do note that we are not only recruiting performers from Martial House, but from the entire Wushu community in Singapore too! It is a great platform for people with similar interest and passion for Wushu to unite and form a contingent to deliver a mass display together! The performance by the martial arts contingent would be one of the main highlights of Chingay 2015! Many for asked about the the age requirements to participate in this event. As Chingay is a national event that promotes community involvement, we would like to have participants across varying age groups! There is no age discrimination! [Updated] Sentosa Outing on 28 July 2014!

Image Martial House will be having a cohesion on 28 July 2014 (Monday) from 10.00am at Sentosa! This cohesion is for all Martial House staffs and students to bond together as one big family! Other than games and activities, we will be having a simple potluck picnic so do bring some food to share! The date of the cohesion has changed because a number of our Martial House Stars are involved in the National Day Parade (NDP) rehearsals on Saturdays. [Updated] Registration for National Wushu & Sanda Championships 2014

Image The Singapore Wushu Dragon & Lion Dance Federation is organising the National Wushu & Sanda Championships 2014 this coming August. Note that there is ONLY 5-DUAN CHANGQUAN & 5-DUAN NANQUAN FOR DUAN WEI ROUTINES. Martial House students who are interested in participating in this competition, kindly approach any of the Martial House coaches. Congratulations to Zheng Yan!

Zheng Yan Congratulations to Martial House Star, Yap Zheng Yan, for attaining the GOLD medal at the SUKMA XVII PERLIS 2014 for his Daoshu event earlier today! Click here to view the article. [Note that translation may be required.] The Sukma Games, a.k.a. Malaysian Games, is an annual national sports competition whereby top athletes from each state of Malaysia gather to compete. The scale of the competition is similar to the All-China Games in China.

NYP Graduation 2 Happy Graduation! Congratulations to the graduating batch of Martial House Stars from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Class of 2014! On behalf of Martial House, I would like to wish you all the best for your future endeavors, especially to the males, who will be enlisting soon! 6-Day Sembilan-Malaysia Wushu Training Camp

Malaysia Training Martial House will be organizing a 6-Day Sembilan-Malaysia Wushu Training Camp during the June Holiday from 8 June 2014 to 13 June 2014! Students who are actively involved in competitions are encouraged to participate in this training camp as students will be given the opportunity to train with top-notch athletes from the Malaysian team. Yi Xiang & Coach Reann on Kids Central

http://youtube.com/watch?v=tdMHERRfJLE Martial House Star Yong Yi Xiang and Coach Leo Rui Yan (Reann) were once featured in a Kids Central variety show “Little Coach”. Yi Xiang was only 14 years old when he had to teach the host, Isabella, a simple cudgel routine. After which, both Yi Xiang and Isabella will compete by displaying their routines with Coach Reann being the judge! Watch the video above to witness the battle between Yi Xiang and Isabella!

Martial House Coach, Leo Rui Yan (Reann), was one of the 3 national athletes who were guests for this particular episode. Coach Reann’s interview segment can be found from 10:43 to 17:31 of the video. During her interview, Coach Reann shared some of her experiences as a national athlete and recommended one of her favourite eating places. There was also a Wushu demonstration where you get to see some of our Martial House Stars when they were young, including Desmond Choo, Tan Keng Hian and World Champion, Ho Lin Ying!
