SEA Games silver medalist Leo Wen Yeow is always ready for a spontaneous chat when it comes to wushu sports.
Leo is not only a qualified and certified NCAP and NROC Wushu coach, but also a certified International and National Wushu Judge (and youngest to achieve this high-grade position) , both certified by International Wushu Federation (IWUF) and Singapore National Wushu Federation (SNWF) respectively.
Learning wushu at a tender age of four, Leo Wen Yeow's strong foundation in his wushu learning started off with traditional wushu learning. Therefore, imparting cultural values of wushu is an important and integral of his coaching.
Despite Leo started carving his coaching career in 2001, he has already nurtured a strong pool of multiple years championship winners in inter-school and national wushu championship competitions over these few years.
Many of his outstanding young talents have since been scouted and enlisted to be a part of the SNWF National and Youth Team.
Understanding every moment of hardship the wushu talents are gong through, Leo is always ready in helping his talents to pull through every obstacle they have met.
Preparing his talents in facing stiff competitions is Leo's forte for he was an outstanding Singapore National Team representative between 1993 and 2003, clinching countless gold medals and awards in National and International level wushu competitions like South East Asia (SEA) Games and Asian Games.
Leo today, is professionally trained in coaching the different level grades of Chang Quan and Nan Quan wushu routines, not to mention his strong events: International Wushu Competition routines for both arenas, from fist to weapon play.
Currently as a full-time wushu sports coach, Leo is engaged in wushu sports coaching for primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions, community clubs and organizations.
Leading his team, Leo and his fellow coaches believe in personal coaching through self demonstrations, provided with proper trainings and explanations but not forgetting to inject excitement, enjoyment and educating the young on the treasured cultural values in their teachings.
