Darren Tan

Beginning the Journey

Darren Tan began his Wushu journey at Martial House when he was in K2. After noticing his interest in the sport, his mother enrolled him in a class, and what began as something new to try soon became an important part of his life.

Over the years, Darren has grown to enjoy both the challenge and camaraderie of Wushu. Training alongside his friends motivates him to keep improving, strengthen his routines and push beyond his limits.

Growing Through Wushu

With the guidance of his coaches at Martial House, Darren has developed not only his technical abilities and physical strength, but also greater confidence.

Performing on stage gave Darren opportunities to confront and gradually overcome his stage fright. Each training session, performance and competition has helped him become a more composed and determined athlete.

Proud Moments

One of Darren’s proudest achievements was winning three gold medals for his school at the National School Games 2026.

Another memorable milestone came at the National Wushu Championships 2025, where he competed in Duilian for the first time. The experience challenged him to develop greater teamwork, coordination and trust with his partners.

Looking Ahead

Darren hopes to represent Singapore at the World Junior Wushu Championships and bring home a medal. This aspiration continues to motivate him to work hard, refine his skills and make the most of every training opportunity.

What Martial House Means to Me

To Darren, Martial House is much more than a place to train. It is where he has learnt the importance of diligence, respect and teamwork, and where he continues to pursue his aspirations alongside the friends and coaches who have supported his journey from the very beginning.
